
The limited licence process
The application process for a limited licence may seem complicated at first, but with the help of our expert team, we'll guide you the entire way through.
Elegibility test
Fill out our online form to determine whether or not you are eleigble for a limited licence. Specific criteria applies so not everyone will qualify
Phone Consultation
After completing our online form we will get you to book an over-the-phone consultation so we can gather further information which is relevant to your case.
Gather Documents
We will need to gather certain documents such as court records which include details of your disqualification or suspension. We will also need proof of hardship which shows evidence of the difficulties caused by losing your licence (e.g., a letter from your employer).
Apply to the court
We will then draft the application which we will submit to the court. This will Include all supporting documents and state why you need the licence. It is at this point that we will also pay court fees for filing the application.
Obtain court order
If your application is approved you will gain a court order. This will specify when and where you can drive as well as what vehicles you can use.
Apply for the licence
Once you have the court order you will need to go to a driver licensing agent (AA, VTNZ, or Vehicle Inspection New Zealand). You'll need to bring your court order and proof of ID (e.g., passport or driver’s licence). You'll also need to pay an application fee (around $40), from there the agent will issue your limited licence.
