Work Licence/Limited Licence application NZ

Getting a work licence/limited licence is not as easy as a trip down to your local AA.

You will need to file the following legal documents in your local District Court:

  • Notice of application;

  • Draft Order;

  • An affidavit from yourself; and

  • An affidavit from your employer in support.

This process can be confusing and expensive. Limited Licence Consultants makes this process super simple by taking care of the legal documents and walking you through the entire process. Additionally, we will only charge you a fraction of the cost a Limited Licence Lawyer would.

Work Licence / Limited Licence process

Draft legal documents

The first step is our initial phone consultation. This will tell us all the information we need to draft the documents which will be filed in Court as part of your work licence/limited licence application.

Police consent

Before filing in the Court we send all your documents to the NZ Police for their consent. To note, this step cannot be circumvented as the Court requires Police's input on all applications.

Court approval

After receiving Police's consent we will file your documents in the Court. If Police have consented to your matter it will be dealt with "in chambers" meaning you will not have to make a Court appearance. You will be given a sealed order which you can take to any AA for them to issue you with your physical work licence/limited licence

How much does a work licence cost

Don't pay $1,200 on a Limited Licence Lawyer. We will produce the same outcome for $500.

As our names suggests we are consultants rather than specialty lawyers. Don't let that fool you into thinking we are not qualified to assist you on your application. Bill, who will be helping you through the journey, is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court.

We charge $500 for the entire application, this includes Court filing fees, initial phone consultation, and drafting the Court documents. We are so confident in what we do that if your application is not successful we will refund your fee.
